My 6 haiku in honor of the "tiger legged desert frog" visiting Burning man for the first time
Desert bound, determined
Porn clowns keep him safe
Creativity
Cannot see enough

Dressing carefully
I assume the frog mantle
No yiffing tonight

A burning Man dream
Tiger legged monkey frog
Hops through the dust storms

So here we go. I'd like to propose agame we played in the Photography tribe for a while. I'll start it off by throwing out two adjectives like slimy and warm. Then the next person composes a haiku that either connotes a slimy and warm feeling, or describes a slimy and warm thing, without using the actual words "slimy" and "warm." Does that make sense?

For instance:

i was virginal
so he had to settle for
dry humping my leg

It's a stretch I know, but that's fair play.

So I'll start the game with the words "twisted" and "clear"

Have fun all!

She wouldn't tell us where we were going. and we all had to wear a silly hat. She said we have to be at her house by a certain time. Well we all get there except one of us. We march off to the bus stop. The missing friend is driving in and we see the bus and yell at him to park and run over. well we manage to all make it in the bus with our hats except mr late person, which we find a newspaper in the bus and make a hat for him. We end up going traveling around the city for dinner, then on the light rail to see a play that one of her students was in. after that one of her friends played music out in the middle of nowhere and then said some poetry he wrote. Then we took the bus/light rail back to her home. Very wonderful. Very fun/weird when you take a big crew of people. Oh the wonders of people on the bus and train.

One of the things I like about my bus ride is the time it allows me to read. I know I should spend it doing homework but since most of the homework for this semester involves exacto blades and paint, reading is a good deal less hazardous. A few days ago I finished a wonderful book that has turned my spark of rebellion into a flame in ernest. I urgently reccommend that everyone go buy it, or check it out of your local library. It's called, "Dude, Where's My Car?" by Michael Moore and it couldn't be more fascinating.

Since I already hate Bush and pretty much everything he represents Mr. Moores' book did not convert me to a new way of thinking but it did offer me some hope that there is a way out of this horrendous mess we're in. His words are stirring, insightful, and true. His grasp of the situation is strong and his solutions realistic. He thinks Oprah should run for President, and I say, "why not?" I'd vote for her, I'll bet most of you would as well. Town meeting with Dr. Phil! Whoopee! Mr. Moore offers strategies for converting fence sitters and "soft" republicans using truth and respect for their values. He does not bandy words, he does not sugar coat the issues.

I'm convinced now that I really can make a difference by talking to people about this issue. If I can convince even one person to read his book or visit his website, (www.michaelmoore.com) I have started a catalyst for change. Please, even if you are a conservative republican, read this book. Then, if you think it's bulls**t tell me! I'm more then happy to listen to all sides of the issue but I am no longer content to sit by impotently and let my country go down the tubes. I believe Mr. Bush is a clear and present danger and that he must be removed from the White House. He does not represent the best interests of my country.

Once again, please go read, "Dude, Where's My County?" Mr. Moore does bite, but boy do we need to be bitten!

It was hot and the bus was as packed as it could get. Stuck in the middle of a late summer heatwave, the air conditioner was apparently not working and the air pressed down on us like a heavy orange curtain. The other passengers and I eyed each approaching stop, willing it to be vacant. Seats were a premium and I was fortunate to have one next to a middle aged hispanic gentleman who spent more than a little time trying to make eye contact with my breasts. Sweat, on the other hand, was having no problem getting down my top as we pulled over for the Man.

He was clearly destitute his hands and face empty. His clothes hadn't been washed or changed in at least a fortnight. His shoes were caked with layers of, well...the streets. He lurched onto the bus and proceeded to scavenge through his pockets for his fare. We waited, in utter silence, as he searched, counted, coughed, counted again, searched again and finally came up with his dollar. He placed his fare into the ticker and the bus finally pulled away from the curb.

Now he turned towards the crowd, his gaze slack, looking for somewhere to sit. Then, in a bee-line move that made a mockery of the mans obvious inability to cope with this world he stumbled to my bench and stopped, looking down at me, breathing loudly through his mouth. With nowhere left to stand I pressed closer to the looky-luis on my left trying to make space for this wild man to sit. The crowd of passengers around his trying to find a spot to stand further away from his stench.
Finally, not wanting him to land in my lap, I spoke up. "There's some room here sir, if you want to sit." His wide eyes darted to mine, down my shirt, to the space available to him on the bench. Then, in a perfectly cultured european baritone he intoned, "But where will my fish sit?"

I got off at the next stop and walked,
